Liverpool Hen Party Ideas

Planning an unforgettable hen weekend? Liverpool is a destination which ticks so many hen party boxes – whether your girls like culture, live music, shopping or great food, Liverpool is bursting with choice.

Shopping in Liverpool is first-class – you’ll have a choice of city-centre shopping centres including the new Liverpool ONE with over 160 high-street shops and the Metquarter for when you want to treat yourself to some upmarket luxuries. Lark Lane is a bohemian destination with boutiques and street markets – vintage fans will be spoilt for choice at Little Red Vintage, which sells original vintage wear and accessories alongside specially reworked pieces, and hit the uber-stylish Cavern Walks for a taste of the WAG lifestyle on your hen weekend!

Liverpool is home to some amazing five-star attractions. As a UNESCO World Heritage City, the city has a great mix of classical and contemporary architecture. It boasts the largest Anglican cathedral in Europe, as well as the Metropolitan Cathedral (known locally as ‘Paddy’s Wigwam’), with its futuristic design – both rank among Liverpool’s top attractions, along with the neo-classical St George’s Hall.

With the largest collection of galleries and museums outside London, including the Tate Liverpool, culture vultures will find something to entertain themselves during their Liverpool hen weekend. If you’ve got a head for heights, take a ride on the 60 metre high Wheel of Liverpool and take in the views of the city, the waterfront, the River Mersey and out over the Irish Sea. Take a wander through the historic Sefton Park and enjoy a picnic next to the lake, or stop in the famous Palm House, a wonderful Victorian glass-panelled building which often holds concerts and dances, perfect for a touch of sophistication on your hen weekend.

Liverpool is a compact and visitor-friendly city and you’ll find you can explore the city centre easily on foot. If you prefer to be driven, the Yellow Duckmarine is a great way to tour the city’s streets and its water – the amphibious World War II landing vehicle will take you on an hour long tour including a dramatic ‘splashdown’ into the dock!

You can’t mention Liverpool without mentioning its world famous musical legacy, most notably of course the Beatles. You can visit band members’ former homes, the Casbah Coffee Club (the Holy Grail of the Beatles trail), the Beatles Story museum or there are plenty of guided tours to choose from.

For nightlife, head to Concert Square, Mathew Street and Eberle Street. Alma de Cuba, set inside the converted St Peters Church is Liverpool’s most spectacular restaurant and bar. With stained glass windows, chandeliers and church candles, it makes for a glamorous night out. The eclectic Fab Cafe calls itself “The World’s First Cult Television and Movie Theme Bar”, and fans of the theatrical will want to head to Circo, a circus-themed bar with live entertainment. Beatles fans will definitely want to visit the famous Cavern Club – a tourist destination as well as a music venue – with live music and DJs.

I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time at the burlesque hen party in Bournemouth on Saturday.

I could not rate Charm School more highly. From the initial planning stages to the actual class, Jane (I can’t remember your burlesque name – sorry!) was helpful and professional at every stage. Our class was in Bournemouth taught by the amazing Miss Coco Cleopatra. She was fun, explained all the moves and background to burlesque and put everyone at ease so that even the more reserved ladies were tassel twirling like best of them by the end of the class. Not only did the bride love it but the best part was that we could take the moves we learned and try them out in the clubs later that night – the people of Bournemouth didn’t know what hit them! If you want a hen weekend activity that will guarantee plenty of laughs make you feel fabulous and glamorous during and after the class, choose Charm School burlesque – we could not have picked a better activity.

Please pass on my thanks to Miss Coco Cleopatra for making it such a class to remember.
